Privacy Policy

This policy explains which personal data PicksDesk collects, why, and what rights you have. It applies to the website picksdesk.com and is written to comply with the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and Spanish law LOPDGDD 3/2018.

What data we collect

• Browsing data collected automatically by the server and, if you accept analytics cookies, by Google Analytics 4: IP address (anonymised), browser, operating system, pages visited, referrer. These data are not used to identify you.
• Newsletter: name, email address, language, date and IP of consent, when you subscribe. Subscription uses double opt-in: it becomes active only after you click the confirmation link we email you.
• Contact form: name, email address, request type (report, partnership, product to review, other) and the content of your message. You receive an automatic copy by email.
• Affiliate clicks: we count clicks on Amazon links in aggregate (product, language, article, day). No personal identifier is stored.

Why we process it and on what legal basis

• Running and securing the website (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f GDPR).
• Sending the newsletter you asked for (consent, art. 6.1.a). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• Answering your messages (pre-contractual measures / legitimate interest, art. 6.1.b and 6.1.f).
• Anonymous statistics about which guides are useful (consent via the cookie banner, art. 6.1.a).
• Legal and tax obligations (art. 6.1.c).

How long we keep it

• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
• Contact messages: 24 months from the last exchange.
• Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics 4 default).
• Server logs: 30 days.

Who receives the data

Technical providers acting as processors: hosting (EU data centre), email hosting and delivery (Hostinger International Ltd., EU servers, mailbox info@picksdesk.com), Google LLC for Analytics (subject to Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). We never sell or rent personal data. Data may be disclosed to authorities when the law requires it.

Amazon links

Product links point to Amazon. When you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies on its own domains under the Amazon Privacy Notice. We do not receive any personal data about you from Amazon: only aggregated commission reports.

Your rights

You can access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing, request portability and withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@picksdesk.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: the Spanish AEPD (aepd.es), the Italian Garante (garanteprivacy.it) or the authority of your country.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, data are stored on servers in the European Union with restricted access, and passwords of the editorial area are stored hashed.
