How we chose the questions

The questions come from what actually changes the result in the bathroom, not from the marketing sheet.

Hair type comes first: on thick hair a 2000 W dryer stretches the job out, while on curls a concentrated jet undoes the curl and a diffuser becomes essential. The second question is about priority: speed, weight or quiet. Those three pull against each other, because the motors that move most air are also the loudest, and the lightest models are rarely the most powerful.

The third question separates the everyday dryer from the one that lives in a cupboard. If you switch it on daily, rated motor hours and spare parts matter. Twice a week, they do not. The last question is budget, and it works as a hard filter: with a low ceiling, professional models drop out even when they look best on paper.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really need a 2400 watt dryer?

Only if your hair is long or thick and you dry it daily. Power paired with an AC motor shortens the job. On short hair a 2200 W model does the same work with less weight in your hand.

Does a salon dryer make sense in a home bathroom?

It does if you use it half an hour a day: a motor rated in thousands of hours and spares you can still find years later. For two dryings a week the money never comes back.

Which dryer should you pick for curly hair?

One with a deep diffuser and a modest weight, because curls are dried on the low setting and that takes longer. Leave the concentrator in the drawer.
