It weighs four things: the device you'll plug in (USB-C, HDMI or a game console), who uses the desk, since a growing kid or a shared workstation needs a height-adjustable stand, how your kid listens to classes and videos (speakers, headphones or a mic for remote classes), and budget. Budget is a hard filter: a model above it is never suggested. Price tiers come from public list prices, not from the current Amazon price, which changes often. Ties go to the order in our guide. Data comes from manufacturer spec sheets, measurements published by the tech press and verified owner reviews; we don't physically test the monitors. If they'll use the desk for years or share it, yes: it's the simplest way to keep the top of the screen at eye level. A VESA arm is the alternative.
